What is a vaporizer?

A vaporizer is an electronic device that allows you to vaporizer your herbs or concentrates without combustion or burning the material.

Is vaping really healthier than smoking?

As we are not in a position to give you a definite answer, there are many research articles that will say that vaping is 95% healthier than smoking. This is mostly due to the fact that when vaping you are not combusting the material so it is not releasing the toxins and carcinogens.

What's the difference between convection and conduction?

Both are forms of heating. Convection is when the vaporizer uses hot air to pass through the material in the chamber. When using conduction heating the herbs are placed directly on the heat source to produce the vapor.

Can I use the same vaporizer for dry herb and concentrate?

This depends on which vaporizer you own For instance, the Mighty and PAX 3 allow you to use both dry herbs and concentrates. Some other vaporizers are specific for the use of only one type. The Black Mamba for example is used for only dry herb whereas the puffco plus is used for only concentrates.

What is an atomizer?

Most atomizers are used for waxes or concentrates and they contain a coil or coil-less heating mechanism. They are battery operated and once it has heated up the substance, the liquid turns into vapor which you inhale.

How do I pick the right vaporizer?

This will depend on your needs. Whether you want a portable or desktop vaporizer, one for dry herbs or concentrates or even both, do you want a digital or non digital? Is grinding necessary?

YES! Grinding your herb will allow for more surface area and an even heat throughout your herb to be more effective.

Does it smell like weed?

There is a slight smell when exhaling the vapor, but nothing compared to traditional smoking.

Do they come with warranties?

Most vaporizers will come with a manufacturer's warranties. Depending on which brand you purchase, they will have shorter warranties like 1 year whilst others come with a 10 year warranty.

I'm not getting large vapor clouds, what can I do?

To get larger clouds you will need to turn up the temperature on your vaporizer. Remember though when increasing the temperature you are risking the great flavor. Vaping dry herb or concentrates is not like smoking and will not give you the same clouds.

What is the best temperature?

This will depend on the vaporizer you have as each model is different. Usually the best temperature for dry herb is between 330F - 375F. If you are vaping concentrates the temperature will need to be higher to ensure it melts.

How long do vaporizers take to warm up?

This will depend on the type of vaporizer you have. If you own a conduction vaporizer it will heat up in seconds because of the direct contact with the material. If you own a convection vaporizer it will take longer up to a couple minutes.

How much herb should I put into the chamber?

All Vaporizers have different chamber sizes. If you are packing a desktop vaporizer you will be putting more in than you would for a portable vaporizer. Most vaporizers work well if you fill them up to three-quarters of the way.

Can I use a vaporizer for aromatherapy?

Yes, make sure you have a vaporizer that will take liquids and is not only used for dry herbs.

Is it difficult to use a vaporizer?

Some vaporizers have more of a learning curve than others, but as soon as you use it a few times you will perfect how it is best used for yourself.

How do I know my herb is finished vaporizing?

You can keep an eye on your herb by opening up the chamber and if it is a dark brown color it is done. You will also taste it as it tastes a little burnt, meaning that it has combusted. Over time you will perfect the temperature and be able to determine how many session you can do.

How do I clean a vaporizer?

Cleaning a dry herb vaporizer is extremely easy, make sure you take out all of the herb and then wipe it down with a cotton swab. Cleaning concentrate vaporizers is more time consuming as you need to clean most of it with isopropyl alcohol and allow it to sit for some time.

How often should I clean my vaporizer?

If you are using concentrates you will need to clean your vaporizer more often than if you are using dry hers. Because concentrates leave behind a sticky residue they will need to be wiped down after every use and deep cleaned every couple of uses. Dry herb vapes need to be wiped down after uses but only takes a few seconds, You will want to deep clean once a week or every other week depending on how often you use it.

What is a whip?

A whip is made with three pieces: a mouthpiece, tubing, and a wand. The mouthpiece is of course where you will put your mouth to inhale the vapor. The tubing is usually about 3-feet long and is made of vinyl or silicon. The want is the most important part as it is what holds your dry herb, this part is usually made of glass and is what connects to the vaporizer.

Why isn't it turning to ash?

Vaporizers do not heat up your herb to the point of combustion so there will never be any ash. What the vaporizer is doing is heating them up to a point that extracts all of the terpenes without burning your herb.
